What is happening in our world?

2/152018

I couldn't sleep tonight.  When I laid my head upon my pillow my mind geared up.  Not necessarily because of the news reports we are getting lately, but how all of this ... the whole generation ... is affecting me.  I am confessing my own failures as well as pointing to those ways that are destroying our country.  And I am falling into the same pit which really goes against the grain.

If God has our life planned from birth to death as some think is so, then where is our responsibility in our free will?  Would you actually blame God for your mishaps/misfortunes?

All things are not the same, and everyone doesn't act and react the same.  When I was a child, family didn't go around puffed up and bragging on every one .... not for getting our own praise or to impress the world to let the society know how good we were; being insincere and insecure about our selves,  lying about who and what we really are, yet one surely must know enough about oneself whether he is just making excuses for what he really is.  Flattery, not just to the person we may want to get attention from and to impress, but to the community in which we live.  I do not like flattery or bragging because it makes me feel like A BIG LIE !  But I have lived with it so long that I find myself "following" along more often....   Then it gets mundane, and is like sounding cymbals without love.  And without Love I am nothing!

Most parents were not indulgent, and most of them did not expect to see the punishment that belonged to someone else's children.  Bragging to the outside world was a rare thing and everyone didn't have to be told "I love you" every five minutes.  And silly little gifts didn't denote love.  We didn't try to put any blame on someone else and we owned up to our own mistakes.  All this is not true of every moment of our life, but it was the first rule of our lives.

Biblical precepts were learned and observed for most people.  Do not lie;  be kind and forgiving; count others better that yourself; be humble (shy if you will)  and treat others as you would have them treat you.  That was the GOLDEN RULE !   The New Testament teaches us everything we need to walk the righteous paths of God.  Now we are saying these same words, but we are LIVING just the opposite.  The whole world lives in a pool of lies; there is kindness that is mouthed in the news and internet for "why don't you do something good like me?"; there seems to be no forgiveness and people seek the worst punishment on the evil doers so they can make "closure" for their own feelings; pushing themselves to be the tops - funniest - smartest - most adored among all.  The Golden Rule is tarnished !

What has happened to our reasoning:  why do wy run with the mobs?

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9, KJV).

2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
